The 43rd Assembly of Parties of EUTELSAT took place 10 and 11 May 2023 in Paris, under the Chairmanship of Ms Ivana Stanković of Serbia and with Ms Viviane Arni of Switzerland as Vice-Chair.
The Executive Secretary of EUTELSAT IGO, Mr Piotr Dmochowski-Lipski, had the honour to host several prominent guests who addressed the Assembly during an opening ceremony – Mr Tomas Lamanauskas, Deputy Secretary-General of the International Telecommunication Union, Mr Laurent Parenté, Director General of the International Mobile Satellite Organization, Mr Patrick Masambu, Director General of the International Telecommunications Satellite Organization, Ms Ksenia Drozdova, Director General of the Intersputnik International Organization of Space Communications and Mr David Bertolotti, Company Secretary of Eutelsat Communications S.A.
All guests recognised the importance of broadband satellite services in bringing meaningful connectivity and achieving sustainable development for all and confirmed their commitment to actively participate in the next World Radiocommunication Conference (WRC-23).
The Assembly reviewed information from the Executive Secretary and from Eutelsat S.A. regarding the respect of the commitments the Company made to the EUTELSAT Member States when the assets and operations of the intergovernmental organisation were transferred to it in 2001. A presentation on this matter was made by the Chief Executive Officer of Eutelsat Communications S.A. Ms Eva Berneke which was received with great interest and appreciations by the delegations.
The Assembly appointed the new Advisory Committee for a mandate of two years composed of the Parties of Bulgaria, France, Hungary, Italy, Liechtenstein, Romania, Switzerland and Turkey. The next ordinary meeting of the Assembly of Parties will take place in the first quarter of 2025.
