The Executive Secretary of EUTELSAT IGO Mr Piotr Dmochowski-Lipski participated in the annual Fall Meeting of the Broadband Commission for Sustainable convened last week in New York against the backdrop of the UN General Assembly and the Summit of the Future.
After a day full of engaging discussions, over 50 Commissioners, invited guests and experts comprising government leaders, heads of international organisations, private sector companies, civil society and academia, called for strengthened global digital cooperation and multistakeholder commitment to ensure a resilient, safe and inclusive digital future for all.
The Commission’s message was echoed at the SDG Digital event organised the following day by ITU and UNDP in the framework of the UN Summit of the Future, where it was underscored that access to digital technologies can accelerate progress towards a greener, more sustainable and more inclusive future.
On the occasion of the Broadband Commission’s meeting, the Executive Secretary joined the Commission’s new Working Group on Data Governance in the Digital Age which will develop a Data Governance Toolkit to provide governments and regulators with practical guidance for effective data governance, addressing capacity and implementation challenges at the country level.
