The Executive Secretary of EUTELSAT IGO attended the annual Fall meeting of the Broadband Commission along with more than 40 Commissioners and representatives comprising government leaders, as well as heads of international organisations, private sector companies, civil society and academia. Convened ahead of the 77th session of UN General Assembly, the meeting was hosted by UNICEF in New York.
Discussions focused on technology’s role in adapting itself to new education realities and on innovative approaches in increasing affordability of access to digital services and devices. At the meeting, the AI Capacity Building working group presented its report on Artificial Intelligence and Digital transformation intended for civil servants worldwide and the Data for Learning group presented its preliminary findings in and Interim Report on “The Transformative Potential of Data for Leaning”.
The State of Broadband Report 2022 showcasing the state and trends in broadband deployment in the new post-pandemic environment, points to the persistent digital divide, the need for investment in broadband and of strategies to achieve universal connectivity.
