The Executive Secretary of EUTELSAT IGO Mr Piotr Dmochowski-Lipski attended as guest the 41st meeting of the Assembly of Parties of the International Telecommunications Satellite Organization (ITSO) that took place this week in Washington, D.C.
During his address at the opening of the meeting, the Executive Secretary stressed that against the backdrop of changing business environment of the satellite telecommunication industry, it is more important than ever to underline the role of intergovernmental satellite organisations as guardians of the public origins and universal obligations of the satellite operators they oversee.
Delegates from 94 ITSO Member States elected Dr Renata Brazil-David as the new Director General and CEO of ITSO for a four-year mandate starting on 18 July 2025. They further decided to honour the current Director General and CEO of ITSO Mr Patrick Masambu with the title of Director General Emeritus to be effective from July 2025.
